Fun Dog Event 2018
A big "THANK YOU" to everyone who came to our Fun Dog Show on Sunday, which was our most successful yet! We are delighted to announce that we made £998, which will help tremendously with the upkeep of the fields! A total of 422 people attended (up from 325 last year) along with 127 dogs! Thanks to our sponsors, guest judges and the various local people and business who donated raffle prizes, cakes etc. And thanks to our volunteers -
If you have any comments, feedback or suggestions for future events please send them to us. See you next year (or maybe next time you are on the fields)!!
This years AGM will be held at the St Thomas’s Suite, St Thomas’s Church, Chatsworth Road at 7.30pm on Thursday 23rd November. We welcome constructive comments at the AGM and it is always a pleasure to meet our members. Please get in touch beforehand if you have any items for discussion at the meeting, or if you would like to volunteer to be on the committee. We are especially looking for a representative from the Deerlands Road side of the fields to join the committee. We hope to see you there!
We are currently working on some ideas to improve the fields for all. One proposal, which we have been working with residents on, is for a kids copse which will compliment the current copse and give an area for families to play with their children. We are interested in hearing any other ideas you might have so please get in touch or bring along your suggestions to the AGM.
This year we have had some unusual activity on the fields that you may have witnessed. So just a gentle reminder to residents that the fields should not be used for dumping any kind of garden waste, or building materials or for burning bonfires on. Also if you can refrain from playing golf on the fields or pitching tents overnight this would be appreciated.
We also found what appeared to be a snare on the fields which would be potentially very harmful to dogs and wildlife as well as children. So if you spot anything like this please contact a committee member or the local authorities as soon as possible.
